Every time a new Harry Potter anything comes out, it makes me miss the series so much.  And now that the book canon is officially over and there's no more story to look forward to anymore...I don't even know.  It just makes me feel even more as if my youth is over.  Went to the midnight showing of HBP!  It was much better than I had expected, except...being the easily freaked out person that I am, the movie creeped the hell out of me (when it wasn't being oddly HILARIOUS).  Um...Katie Bell scene?  I covered my eyes and I swear I'm going to get nightmares someday from that.

Anyways, instead of studying for my GREs, I have been doodling many Marauders pics (on paper, since I still don't have art programs on my new laptop) and re-reading all my old favorite fics.   Somehow HP nostalgia always becomes Marauders nostalgia, lol.  I MISS YOU SO MUCH, SIRIUS ;___;

The only cons I read were that the screen is glossy and has kinda fail vertical tilt display, but my current one already does that OTL;.  And it's 6.6lbs.  But besides that, it sounds quite nice.  I had a hard time choosing between the Lenovo series (I've kinda had my heart set on a Lenovo for a while...it's not pretty as Sony, but more efficient and dependable), but in the end I was sold on the media-friendliness.

My Vaio has served me well, but...it's getting to the point where it takes over 10 minutes to save large Photoshop files (drawing the Hetalia print was TERRIBLE x_x) and can't handle that many Firefox tabs without lagging.  I can't wait to get the new one :D  It'll hopefully make it less painful to draw on Photoshop, lol.

Does it make me a terrible person if I'm not that interested in development and aiding poor countries? >_>;  I JUST WANT TO DO POLICY.  STATE DEPT PLZ.

But my internship is going okay.  The work is, as would be expected, not as exciting as the JPMorgan trading floor, but I'm working on a project to help out the financial sector in Eastern Europe.  It's sort of cool, but I'd still rather deal with government-level politics than groundwork.  Man, I'm such a douchebag.

This lack of paper writing is actually becoming a bit worrisome.  I am totally going to start on my missile defense one RIGHT AFTER I'M DONE WITH THIS POST.  But anyways, I had a very disconcerting "holy shit, Europe is right about American ignorance" moment when doing my research for this paper.  Apparently the EU is on autopilot because the Czech coalition government collapsed two months ago?  I had heard nothing of the sort.  At all.  At times like these, I do actually feel quite humbled because...Europe is right, we sometimes really DON'T give a shit about anyone besides ourselves D:

Also, I have decided America has been the bigger douchebag in this ridiculous missile defense standoff with Russia.  But only by a little bit.

Ugh, American Idol is dead to me.  One of the few seasons they have a real standout performer with a great voice and even better stage presence, they choose the boring white guy from Arkansas with the twangy voice.  I swear, if Adam was super Christian and not fabulously gay, he would have the title hands down.  Kris is only winning because he has Gokey's votes.  DDDD<
